Hello,
Congratulations on the approval!
We’re a small, US-based crypto development startup that is very interested in contributing to the success of Telcoin by becoming an early stage alpha validator. We are an active node provider for other projects so we’re experienced in this area and feel we can make a significant contribution to the project’s success by joining the network. After reading through the docs, it’s clear that GSMA MNO Membership requirement may be a significant deterrent to attracting the most reliable and experienced infrastructure providers. Could a member of the Telcoin team please clarify the Telcoin GSMA membership requirement? Does it require full MNO membership status? Does Sector or Associate Membership meet the validator requirement? We’ve researched investing in GSMA membership in prior fixed-wireless infrastructure projects however, the full cost on the low-cap MNO membership may be prohibitively expensive (~$15,000/yr) for CAPEX calculations. We appreciate any clarification the Telcoin team could provide. Thank you!
Dear @validator,
It’s a pleasure to meet you and thank you for reaching out! We are thrilled to see your interest in validating Telcoin Network and your experience as a node provider.
Regarding the validator eligibility requirements, Telcoin Network validators must hold a GSMA Operator Membership, which is exclusively available to licensed mobile network operators (MNOs) utilizing GSM family technology (e.g., satellite operators, maritime operators, regulatory bodies).
This rule is designed to standardize a blockchain network and token, Telcoin Network and TEL, for the telecom industry. In this way, Telcoin aims to harness the reach of MNOs to connect every mobile user through a shared financial infrastructure and scale blockchain to the masses.
In other words, unless you are an MNO, the position of Validator is not attainable. However, the Telcoin Platform’s ownership model provides a broad range of other opportunities to produce the network, harvest the native token issuance, and represent your interests in governance, such as:
We’d love to explore how your team’s expertise can best fit into the Telcoin ecosystem. Let’s schedule a call to discuss further—please reach out to support@telcoin.org to find a time that works!
Looking forward to continuing the conversation.
Best regards,
Parker Spann
