Context: This liquid delegation proposal is being submitted following the resignation of a TAN council member. The council member resigned due to tie zone constraints as they could not attend the recurring council meetings, which are held at 4PM CDT every other Thursday. As a result, we require this meeting time be suitable for all applicants. The exiting council member’s governance NFT has been revoked, and the Telcoin Autonomous Ops (TAO) has temporarily taken over voting responsibilities until the vacancy can be filled through this liquid delegation process. The TAO’s role as a substitute voter ensures that TAN council proposals, which require 100% quorum from the other council members and achieve the approval rate threshold of 5/6, can be voted into action while a new representative is being elected via the liquid delegation ceremony.

Per the Liquid Delegation Rules, this proposal is being initiated to elect a new Council Member to represent the Developers Miner Group. As the seat is available, the previous member won’t be included in the subsequent snapshot vote by default.

Liquid Delegation Process

  • Miner Group Affected: Developers
  • Vacant Seat: 1 TAN Council position
  • Proposal Authority: As per the Liquid Delegation Rules, this proposal will be submitted to Snapshot by the TAO.
  • Nomination Period: Candidates must submit a nomination application to this forum post, at the latest, 24 hours prior to the proposal going live on Snapshot on Friday 23rd May 2025 at 3PM CT
  • Candidate Introductions: All candidates are invited to introduce themselves to the TAN council and Telcoin Association community at the recurring TAN Council Meeting which will be held on Thursday 22nd May 2025 at 4PM CT in the Telcoin Association Discord
  • Voting Duration: 7 days
  • Quorum Requirement: 20% of the Developers Miner Group’s voting power
  • Outcome: The candidate with the most votes will receive the Platform Council Governance NFT, granting them proposal, voting authority, and a flow of TEL issuance.

Voting Process

  • Between now and the finalized proposal date, eligible candidates will be included in a Snapshot vote for the Developers Miner Group.
  • Voting will last 7 days.
  • Plurality-based selection: The candidate with the highest number of votes will receive the governance NFT.
  • If the quorum is not met, the TAO will maintain voting authority until another delegation is completed.

Next Steps

  1. Call for Nominations – Interested candidates should submit their nomination applications below this post before Thursday 22nd May 2025 at 3PM CT.
  2. Snapshot Vote – On Friday 23rd May 2025 at 3PM CT, a 7-day vote will be held within the Liquidity Miners Miner Group Snapshot page.
  3. NFT Transfer – Provided the quorum is met, and the Know Your Member process is completed successfully, the winning candidate will be granted their governance NFT - officially joining the TAN Council.

Introduction

Hello, I’m Derek from the United States. With two decades of experience in hospitality and a strong background in data analytics, business intelligence, and technology integration, I am excited to put forth my nomination for the TAN Council position.

How did you find out about Telcoin and why are you excited about being a part of the Telcoin community?

I discovered Telcoin back in 2020 when a close friend shared with me an infographic on Telcoin’s mission to provide remittance services instantaneously via cell phone networks. At the time, we had been complaining about how difficult it was to send money without large fees and long clearing times for our bank accounts (we were planning to travel abroad). He sent me 25,000 TEL and told me he was so confident about the project that he was more than happy to give me some to get me started.

After that, TEL sat in my Coinbase wallet for months. I finally revisited it around the first Bitcoin increase when people started talking about network speeds and the vision of sending money instantly. Fast forward a few years, and I’ve made a significant investment in both time and money in the project after learning even more about the technology and vision.

What experience do you have in interacting with the Telcoin Platform as a user, miner, and/or overall ecosystem participant?

As a technology enthusiast and active participant in various DeFi projects, I’ve followed Telcoin’s development closely, engaging with the community and staying updated on platform advancements. My experience with user-centric analytics systems, especially in identifying how easily they can be adopted by average users, has made me even more passionate about the vision of what Telcoin has to offer in the future.

Why should you be selected?

My combination of business acumen, technical expertise, and proven leadership in high-stakes environments makes me well-suited for this role. I bring a unique perspective from both traditional business operations and analytics, with an emphasis on process improvements during my time managing teams as large as 1,000. What changes and improvements do you plan to propose?

I aim to enhance data-driven decision-making within the Council, advocate for increased transparency in governance, and promote educational initiatives via existing media handles to help users better understand and engage with the Telcoin ecosystem. I also plan to propose tools and dashboards for real-time analytics to inform both Council and community members.

How will you represent your miner group in decision-making processes to ensure their interests are being voiced and protected?

I will maintain open channels of communication with the developer community, actively solicit feedback, and ensure their perspectives are presented in Council discussions. My experience in managing large organizational operations groups will help me seek to understand diverse ideas while prioritizing the long-term health of the Telcoin ecosystem.

How will you keep your constituency informed?

I plan to provide regular updates via Discord, Twitter, and the Telcoin forum, sharing insights, decisions, and upcoming initiatives. I will also create easy-to-understand summaries and visual reports to keep the community engaged and informed. My main goal is to grow the viewership of the Telcoin Association meetings, hopefully culminating in educational videos and resources in an easy-to-understand, no-frills format.

How much time can you dedicate to the role each week?

I can dedicate 8-12 hours per week to Council duties, with flexibility to increase my involvement during critical periods or major initiatives.
