Background

With more of the Telcoin Association members working on various network projects, the need for AI assistance becomes greater. Currently association members are restricted to free versions, limited access or must pay for tokens themselves. Giving access to Claude AI, association members should increase speed, accuracy, and cost efficiency to help enhance task execution, ultimately enabling the Telcoin Association to achieve improved outcomes.

Benefits:

  • Enhances analysis: summarize large reports, logs, research, and key points or inconsistencies

  • Improves access to information and lets non‑experts query complex topics to get structured explanations

  • Stronger governance analysis and simulations. Interpretable and auditable signals for governance quality (e.g. flagging low‑quality proposals, analysing Pools, trade‑offs, code). Claude can be used to simulate outcomes of fee changes, incentive programs, or risk‑parameter tweaks before a vote.​

  • Strong code and execution tools, and a Files API that let you build agents for internal tools (e.g. analytics, risk engines, bots) and work over your docs, forum posts, and specs.

  • The ability to integrate with our current software Slack and Trello (MCP or API).

  • Strong coding and support. Claude Code is widely used for code generation, refactoring, agents and documentation

Negatives:

  • It will not do everything for the association and will still reply on strong human interaction.

  • Vulnerable to prompt injection, misuse, and unexpected edge cases.

  • Data privacy and governance concerns

  • Economic and operational limits

  • Claude’s API is rate‑limited and priced toward the higher end. The outperformance of Claude AI is expected to outweigh the costs of outsourcing and time.

Non-Profit pricing:

Team Plan: $8/user/month (minimum 5 seats, maximum 20 seats)

Enterprise Plan: $10/user/month (minimum 20 seats)

  • 5-hour and weekly limits that reset automatically.

  • If you hit those limits, extra usage is available at API rates using pre-purchased credits. Initial 200K context window “working memory” per conversation. Admin can set spend caps per user to control costs.

Models & Access:

  • Claude Opus 4.6, Sonnet 4.5, and Haiku 4.5

  • Extended thinking mode for deeper reasoning

Collaboration Features:

  • Projects and knowledge bases for shared work

  • Enterprise Search with integrations (Slack, Google Workspace, GitHub, Microsoft 365)

Usage, Data & Controls:

  • 30-day data retention

  • Data exports for Primary Owners

  • Cost caps will be required and managed by the Admin.

API pricing, can be Admin controlled:

  • Opus 4: $15 per million input tokens / $75 per million output tokens

  • Sonnet 4: $3 per million input tokens / $15 per million output tokens

  • Haiku 4.5: $1 per million input tokens / $5 per million output tokens

The plans:

Team Plan (5hr usage limits and weekly caps)

  • Includes Claude Code and Cowork

  • Connect Microsoft 365, Slack, and more

  • Enterprise search across your organization

  • Central billing and administration

  • Single sign-on (SSO) and domain capture

  • Admin controls for remote and local connectors

  • Enterprise deployment for the Claude desktop app

  • No model training on your content by default

  • Mix and match seat types

Enterprise Plan (consumption-based billing)

All Team plan features, plus:

  • Admins set user and org spend limits

  • Google Docs cataloging

  • Role-based access with fine grained permissioning

  • System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM)

  • Audit logs

  • Compliance API for observability and monitoring

  • Custom data retention controls

  • Network-level access control

  • IP allowlisting

  • HIPAA-ready offering available

Implementation:

  • Choose the selected users to have the Team Plan access and those who require advanced features can be upgraded to the Enterprise plan.
  • Focus on Network development and Project implementation needs for the association.
  • Set collaboration between individuals and councils to maximise usage before having to pay extra.
  • Connect to current services, Slack & Trello.
  • Set up an Admin to manage users and API costs.

Conclusion:

Once implemented we would expect to see fair usage by the TA, product improvements and time savings. We would expect this to greatly improve development output for project completion, code assistance, dashboard, website development and analysis.

If we find after a year on the subscription, we are not seeing value the renewal can be re-addressed as we have no further obligations.
