I focus on building transparent, data-driven tools that strengthen Telcoin’s governance and developer ecosystem driven by developer and commmunity feedback. My work spans UI/UX design, analytics infrastructure, and community education to help users and builders understand and engage with Telcoin governance.

Council Nomination Application

Introduction

Hello, I’m Derek from the United States. As the current Developer representative on the TAO Council, I’ve focused on turning Telcoin’s governance into something people can see, measure, and participate in by taking the technicals of the Telcoin Network and project and linearly creating easy to digest and informative mediums for both the community and developers to better understand the Telcoin Network and Association. My goal remains the same: make the Association’s systems transparent, usable, and continuously improving while working with developers on integrating into the ecosystem.

How did you find out about Telcoin and why are you excited about being part of the community?

I discovered Telcoin in 2020 and was drawn to its mission of mobile-first financial access. Since then, I’ve dedicated myself to helping the project mature through open governance, educational content, and data-driven transparency.

What experience do you have interacting with the Telcoin Platform?

  • Governance: Authored and co-authored multiple TANIPs and TIPs, several of which were voted on and implemented to improve transparency and operational efficiency.

  • Official Tools: Co-developed Roadmap.Telcoin.Network, an official Association resource for tracking network milestones.

  • Community Projects: Built TelcoinWiki.com, published Medium resources for purchasing and onboarding guides, and launched wallet analyzer tools for miner and distribution insights.

  • Ecosystem Support: Regularly assist community members with technical questions, feedback, and proposal clarification, keeping communication open and constructive to help refine the Association’s governance model.

Why should you be selected?

I’ve consistently done my best to deliver results - increasing our council meeting viewership via live streams, producing educational pieces, tools, proposals, and infrastructure that make governance visible and functional. My work focuses on execution, collaboration, and ensuring every decision is informed by accurate, accessible data.

Why are you running for this position?

To continue developing the systems that make Telcoin’s governance sustainable and scalable as we enter this next phase of the project. My goal remains connecting data, tooling, and education across councils and the wider developer community.

  • Marketing analytics & communication: 20 years in ROI-based campaigns and team leadership

  • Governance design: Hands-on with TAO, TANIP, and TIP frameworks; experienced proposal author and implementer

Authored Proposals:

  • X (Twitter) Gold Checkmark Verification Proposal: Upgraded the Association’s account to the Verified Organizations tier to enhance authenticity, combat impersonation, and improve marketing efficiency.

  • [TIP] Organizational Chart Development and Posting: Created a public, up-to-date organizational chart on the official site to improve transparency and help community members understand council composition.

  • [TIP] Expanding Council Meeting Coverage to Live Streaming on X Spaces and YouTube: Enabled simultaneous multi-platform streaming of council meetings to increase accessibility and public engagement.

  • [TIP] Transitioning Council Meeting Streaming from Discord to Zoom: Proposed shifting official meetings to Zoom for improved audio/visual quality and professionalism, while continuing Discord for communication and scheduling.

Representation and Communication

I will continue to represent developer interests through transparent discussion, data sharing, and open collaboration with an emphasis on ensuring the developer community remains a central voice in platform governance.

Time Commitment

10–20 hours per week, with flexibility for major initiatives.

Thank you for the opportunity to continue serving the Telcoin community. My commitment remains simple: build openly, communicate clearly, and keep improving the systems that make Telcoin’s governance work.
