TANIP-1 Companion Proposal: External Missions Dashboard

TANIP-1 Companion Proposal: External Missions Dashboard

Submitted by: Bluelights
Date: 20th July 2025

This proposal takes from my original one and refines the idea, original link here: TANIP-1 Amendment Proposal: In-App Missions Upgrade

Overview

This proposal introduces an externally governed Missions Dashboard designed to complement the existing TANIP-1 emissions model. Rather than replacing fee-volume-based rewards, this initiative adds a transparent, goal-oriented layer that helps guide user behaviour and promote sustainable engagement across the Telcoin ecosystem.

The dashboard would be hosted outside the Telcoin app and governed by the Telcoin Association’s TAN Council, enabling it to operate independently of Telcoin Holdings while aligning directly with the Council’s mission to foster meaningful adoption and reward real participation.

Context

TANIP-1 currently rewards users based on transaction volume within the Telcoin app. While the intention is to incentivize activity, several challenges have emerged:

  • High concentration of rewards among a few high-volume wallets
  • Low participation from casual or new users
  • Emissions distribution with little behavioural feedback
  • No clear structure guiding users on how to earn TEL

This proposal introduces a Mission-based engagement layer as a governance-controlled tool to distribute TEL in a fairer, more structured, and sustainable way — fully independent of Telcoin app development.

Proposal: External Missions Dashboard

A standalone Missions Dashboard will be developed and hosted (e.g. missions.telcoin.org). It will:

  • Be publicly accessible
  • Display all active missions to all visitors
  • Allow users to paste their Telcoin wallet address to check mission status
  • Let eligible users claim TEL rewards directly to their wallet

This system requires no login, no wallet connection, and no integration with the Telcoin app, making it fully within the TAN Council’s domain to build, control, and evolve.

How It Works

  1. Visit the Dashboard
Anyone can access the dashboard to view current and past missions.
  2. View Public Missions
All mission cards show the task, eligible date range (e.g. July 22–28), and reward (if public).
  3. Paste Wallet Address to Check Status
Users paste their Telcoin wallet address to view their mission statuses:
  • :cross_mark: Not Completed – requirements not met
  • :bullseye: Completed – Claim Available – eligible for TEL reward
  • :white_check_mark: Completed – Claimed – already claimed and locked
  1. Claim Rewards
Clicking Claim sends the TEL reward directly to the wallet provided.
  2. No App or Web3 Connection Required
This flow works seamlessly for existing Telcoin Wallet users, requiring no integration or login — just public address checks.

Sample Missions (Illustrative Only)

Mission Name Period Objective Description
Stake TEL Weekly Stake X amount of $TEL using the staking feature.
Swap & Hold Weekly Swap any two assets and hold the received asset for at least 3 days.
Referral Starter Monthly Refer 3 new users who each complete at least one transaction.
7-Day Trader Rolling (Streak) Complete 1 swap per day for 7 consecutive days.
Loyal Holder Monthly Hold X TEL in your wallet for 30 consecutive days without outflows.
Deposit TEL Weekly Deposit X amount of $TEL into your wallet from an external source.

These missions are examples only. Final mission criteria, logic, and rewards will be determined by the TAN Council.

Governance, Emissions & Transparency

  • :compass: Governed by TAN Council
  • :chart_decreasing: Emissions caps can be set weekly or monthly
  • :open_file_folder: Mission logic and status evaluation to be open and auditable
  • :locked: No login or keys required – non-custodial and secure
  • :puzzle_piece: Fully complements TANIP-1 – not a replacement, but a structured extension

Next Steps & Council Role

This proposal does not set reward levels, emissions budgets, or final logic. Instead, it:

  • :white_check_mark: Requests approval to establish the mission framework and dashboard
  • :white_check_mark: Enables the TAN Council to define rules and oversee implementation
  • :white_check_mark: Allows foundational work to begin without delaying for fine details

The TAN Council will determine:

  • How much $TEL should be allocated for mission rewards
  • How missions are scheduled (weekly, monthly, seasonal)
  • How reward thresholds, verification, and delivery are handled
  • Whether to launch pilot campaigns or seasonal testing phases

A follow-up proposal may be needed to define emissions allocations, funding sources, or contributor roles. This current proposal simply enables the groundwork for the system to be built under Council governance.

Clarification on Scope

All mechanics and flows presented are conceptual illustrations. The actual implementation — including mission types, reward formulas, and feature complexity — is fully at the discretion of the TAN Council.

This proposal is focused on unlocking the ability to build and iterate, not locking the Council into any specific structure.

Benefits

  • :white_check_mark: Accessible – Easy for all users to participate by pasting a wallet address
  • :white_check_mark: Fairer – Missions reward actual behaviour, not just raw volume
  • :white_check_mark: Scalable – New missions and campaigns can be added flexibly
  • :white_check_mark: Secure – No keys, no wallet connection, no app dependencies
  • :white_check_mark: Governable – Fully under TAN Council oversight with emission control
  • :white_check_mark: Complementary – Enhances, not replaces, existing TANIP-1 incentives

Conclusion

The External Missions Dashboard offers a transparent, flexible, and Council-controlled way to guide user activity, distribute TEL more equitably, and reward meaningful participation across the ecosystem — without relying on app development or Telcoin Holdings.

This proposal asks the Council and community to approve the foundational system. Specific missions, logic, and reward schedules can follow as part of governance-led rollout plans.

I invite the TAN Council and community to support this initiative and help design the next evolution of TEL distribution in a fair, structured, and engaging way.

Thanks for this - some really unique and interesting ideas here.

We will want to figure out a few things:
Reward distribution (claim button vs the current auto distribution of tanip1)

“Mission” frequency and approval process

Dashboard and on-chain logic/coding - will we need to outsource this due to the network ramp up taking much of the dev team’s efforts?

How does staking play a role in this?

The claim mechanism I’m a little fuzzy on. Wouldn’t you need to confirm it’s your wallet to hit claim? How would that work? I don’t know if the Telcoin wallet has a web3 connect option? If thats the case would it be easier to automate the coding for all of the missions and then have it auto distribute like the tanip1 system?

Thanks for the thoughtful reply — really appreciate you taking the time to dig into the proposal.

To clarify, this proposal is about enabling the foundation for a mission-based rewards system governed by the TAN Council. It doesn’t lock in specific logic, timelines, or emissions — those would be shaped by the Council and contributors during implementation. That said, here’s a quick response to the points you raised:

:white_check_mark: Claim Button vs. Auto-Distribution

I’d strongly recommend a claim-based model over auto-distribution. Missions are meant to be interactive — users complete a task, check in, and click to claim. That creates engagement, urgency, and a sense of achievement.

Auto-distribution, while simpler, removes the fun. There’s no feedback loop or reason to return. Plus, claim-based systems give the Council more flexibility (e.g. recycle unclaimed rewards or monitor claim patterns).

:white_check_mark: No Wallet Connect Needed

Claiming is intentionally lightweight. Users simply paste their Telcoin wallet address, the dashboard checks for mission completion, and if eligible, clicking Claim sends TEL to that same address.

There’s no way to redirect rewards, so the process is secure — even if someone else claims on your behalf, you still receive the reward.

If additional verification is ever desired, an optional layer could be added — for example:

  • Paste your wallet address
  • Receive a one-time code via SMS (sent to the phone number registered with that wallet) or the registered email account associated with the wallet
  • Enter the code to unlock the dashboard or confirm claim

This isn’t required for the system to function — but could be added later if the Council wants stricter controls.

:white_check_mark: Mission Scheduling & Council Oversight

The dashboard wouldn’t enforce a fixed cadence. The Council can roll out missions weekly, monthly, seasonally — whatever fits. It’s flexible and governance-driven by design.

:white_check_mark: Dashboard Build & Dev Resources

If Holdings is focused on network rollout, this could be outsourced to a small Web3 dev team or contributor. The frontend and backend can be kept lean, with mission tracking handled off-chain via API/indexer logic.

However, for reward distribution, a smart contract would likely be appropriate. It could:

  • Prevent double-claims
  • Securely disburse TEL only to the eligible wallet
  • Emit events for transparency
  • Be funded in batches via Council multisig

This balances trustless delivery with flexible mission logic — backend verifies completion, contract handles the final send. It also keeps user experience smooth while ensuring proper governance over rewards.

:white_check_mark: Staking in Missions

Since staking is already live in the Telcoin app, it fits naturally into mission logic. Example tasks like “Stake X TEL” or “Stake for 30 days” promote long-term alignment and support the Stake & Refer system.

:white_check_mark: Closing Thoughts

This proposal gives the TAN Council a flexible framework to create a more engaging, transparent, and fair rewards experience — one that complements TANIP-1 but opens the door for broader participation.

The claim model is central to that experience. It turns rewards from a passive faucet into an earned interaction.

Looks good to me, Bluelights. I think this has alot of potential.. TANIP-1 had good intentions, but obviously as time went on we realized it’s been easy to game and hard for regular users to figure out how to actually earn. A missions dashboard gives us structure, transparency, and a way to reward activity.

I especially like that it doesn’t rely on the app or Holdings at all. No wallet connection, no login.. just paste your address and go. Super clean, user-friendly, and low risk. We can tweak the specifics as we go and can get creative about it.

Definitely curious to hear more from the community and council members to get their take on this but I’m all for a framework approval so we can start testing and shaping the next phase.

Well said.

Personally, I like the idea of incentivizing and rewarding the community to explore and use the Telcoin ecosystem. This is a much more approachable system for newcomers too.

This proposal is super well thought-out, strategic, and balances decentralization, accessibility, and Council governance nicely. It adds a fun value prop without disrupting TANIP1. I know I know, while we still know it needs improvement, I think we all understand why it needs to stand and iterate.

This would be a solid “add” to the social dynamic and fun for the community. Everyone is up for a little competition. I’m totally for this.

It will be critical to know:

Who develops the dashboard, and is the IP with the council, or the developer. Is it licensed? Might need legals help on this.

Who maintains, updates missions to keep it fresh, bugs, and security (even though there’s no connect feature), also if it’s a reoccurring cost to budget for.

Big fan of the proposal, thank you @bluelights!
I think it would be worth exploring options to introduce this on a ‘trial’ basis - what would be the minimum viable product we can roll out to get some real user data, before committing to allocating significant resources towards this initiative?

I have already gathered 1 quote (very fair) to build this out, I have passed it over to @CryptoSteveO and would be happy to arrange a meeting to discuss further in detail with the company and get this moving in whichever capacity the council see’s fit. :+1:
