Specializations:
This is my application for Re-Election to the TelX Council, having served this past year.
I have attended ALL Telx Council Meetings and written & submitted 2 proposals as well as being an active participant on the other councils’ meetings, I feel I am well qualified to help guide the Telx Council during this next year.

I’ve been involved in crypto since July 2017 and was recommended Telcoin through a TG channel – did some research – liked what I discovered, the core use case made sense & I bought my first Tel through Kucoin in May 2018. Rode through the slump when Claude left and especially over last few years have become more and more convinced in the values and objectives of the team and project as a whole.

I truly believe Defi will become the norm and empower people towards change, and that the Telx platform will evolve to provide a world class, Centre of Excellence in the Defi space. Globally and gradually over time, people will transact differently and I believe Telcoin will be leading that change. I am excited to be part of this change at such a fundamental level.

I’ve been in and out of various Telx pools providing liquidity from the start. I stake through the app and have a small number of referrers- and active participant in the TG & Discord groups. Have made a few suggestions through support highlighting some issues and been using the app since Nov 2019 when it was first available in NZ.

I ran my own software company in the UK for 13 yrs and marketed, supported and trained over 200 clients in the use of financial & hotel management software. I also designed, developed and implemented a suite of financial & back office modules for an international shipping company based in Bermuda, New York and Florida. I have written and developed a bespoke suite of FX trading bots running on the MT4 platform, analyzing the TA indicators to enter and exit trades.
I have expansive business-to-business experience across a wide range of applications and international market sectors (in UK, USA, Bermuda, Australia & New Zealand) including IT services, financial, insurance, forest products & building supplies, hospitality, TV media & healthcare. I have supported the IT production control systems responsible for SCADA which ran the BP/Sohio North Slope oil fields in Alaska

Apart from having a year’s long experience and proven track record of council work, I bring a certain perspective and maturity to the role & I also provide Liquidity to other platforms so have a broad knowledge of how other blockchains functions. “Better the Council Member you know instead of the one you don’t”.

What changes and improvements do you plan to propose?

  • Continue to build on the education side of Telx University with Storm, and I would like to re-design the pool rewards/incentive structure since it’s obvious the current rewards are not working in the best interests of the community

How will you represent your miner group in decision-making processes to ensure their interests are being voiced and protected?

  • Strong participation in council meetings. My experience has shown I can grasp complex issues but also break things down to explain in a manner that most people can understand.

How will you keep your constituency informed?

  • Regular comms through TG, discord and X and through other platforms as required

How much time can you dedicate to the role each week?

  • I’m retired !.. so as much as is required

Specializations
I have a legal background and worked as a legal/product manager until 2020, when I transitioned to a full-time web3 role exploring protocols, interacting with development teams, attending conferences, and finding my niche in Decentralized Finance.

Over the years, I have been active on 30+ EVM and non-EVM blockchains and have interacted with over 100 DeFi protocols. My strongest advantage is having been in this space since 2019, when DeFi had its breakthrough moment and protocols like Compound, Curve, and Uniswap launched on mainnet. Being one of the early liquidity providers in 2019, I capitalized on the rise of lending markets and DEXs during the DeFi summer in 2020. Today, my strategies are more risk-averse and focus on delta-neutral positions, with particular interest in new DeFi primitives like Pendle, Fluid, and Gammaswap.

I also participated in angel investing in early-stage projects.

How did you find out about Telcoin and why are you excited about being a part of the Telcoin community?

I discovered Telcoin through Nick ‘Bluelights’. Nick and I met several years ago when we were both active in the Polygon community, and we briefly collaborated on a project together.

I believe Telcoin can achieve product-market fit and has a sustainable long-term vision. What I appreciate most about the Telcoin community is its transparency and positive atmosphere—it reminds me of the Polygon community in 2020.

Experience with the Telcoin Platform
I hold Telcoin tokens and have provided liquidity as a miner. I have also researched staking options for my tokens but have not yet proceeded with implementation.

Why I am running
Nick invited me to consider this opportunity, and the timing as well as the substance of a Telx council position resonated with me. I have been contemplating how to leverage my experience more broadly beyond advising family and friends.

Unique skills, experiences and credentials
Over the past six years, I have developed extensive knowledge of DeFi protocols in the following areas.

  • Tokenomics analysis and design
  • Protocol mechanics (V2/V3/V4, ve- escrow, liquidity layers, etc.)
  • Oracle systems and security considerations (non-developer perspective)
  • DeFi strategies and fundamental building blocks

I have been an active member of the Polygon community since 2021. In 2023, when the 0vix lending market on Polygon was exploited through oracle manipulation, I represented the 0vix community in developing the recovery plan alongside the 0vix team.

I have experience with governance participation and DAO protocols across multiple platforms.

Changes and improvements
I need to conduct deeper research to provide a comprehensive answer to this question. Initially, I would recommend improving procedural frameworks and scope definition, as information currently appears fragmented.

Time commitment
4-8 hours per week
